This photo of me was taken in the Rothko Chapel in Houston, Texas, the day before I flew to Guatemala.

Whenever I am in Houston I try to visit the Chapel; one of the few places where my thoughts can be completely still. It also combines just about everything I love in one space, with its mission of fostering peace through contemplation and activism, and of supporting human rights through the arts and spirituality.

The photo itself was a nice coincidence. After meditating in my usual spot, someone approached me who was taking photos of different art museums in Texas for a magazine article, and I agreed to let him take my photo as I had been sitting.
